Stanford University Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

@lookingxaround major-specific (CS) stuff, like others will probably have a lot higher math courses completed than me. But gotta agreed with your statement with how low the odds are. Cheers

@Snekfest Good to see you on this thread, and congrats on getting accepted to Columbia! Hopefully Stanford will work out in our favor as well.

@03obvious ayy congrats to you too fam and wishing you the best of luck on this crazy ride.

@Snekfest Oh ok, true. I’ve been wondering whether the level of math completed will lower my chances too. Considering I’m applying to the Art program it doesn’t seem that this would weigh heavily against me, but I took Statistics rather than Calc or even Pre-Calc.

Hi everyone. Wow, I haven’t been on this thread in like 7 months. Time flies! Anyway, I’m excited to enter the waiting room with y’all!

Hey guys, I’ve applied to Stanford as a transfer applicant for fall 2019 as well.
My SAT is1470, I have a 4.0 so far, and have launched my own company.
What do you think?

@Tygermas dude that’s sick, honestly I feel a bit short, having a 3.57 and a much less sat score, extracurricular wise I’m involved in a lot of music and art stuff for almost 9+ years, even though I’m in cs. Not sure if that’s gonna affect me a lot. I’m hoping my essays and recommendations are gonna help me a lot.

Aye thanks!
I’d say that if you’ve really achieved something in music or art then yes you have a good chance as well. Also, have you submitted an arts supplement or portfolio? P. S IT’S gonna be super hard for me as well to get into Stanford since I’m an international student lmao.

Is it possible for international students to get a transfer into stanford? By international, i mean Canada lmao

I feel like I’m kind of late to this thread, but I’ve never been a part of something like this and got intimidated. I just submitted my application. We’ll see what happens…

Hello everybody. I come back to the thread after a long time. I also applied to Stanford as junior transfer.
@ireadtoomuch I saw you on Columbia thread as well. How many universities are you applying to?

@avkhatri101 I applied to 8 schools: Stanford (obviously), Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Princeton, Johns Hopkins, University of Colorado Boulder, and University of Northern Colorado.

@Tygermas I am also an international applicant from South Asia. I think it is possible to get transfer but undoubtedly extremely difficult. Are you applying for financial aid? I am requesting a lot of financial aid, basically my EFC is 5k which makes my chances next to none.

Stanford doesn’t have their transfer art portfolio submission up anymore! The deadline said 3/15…curious what happened. Definitely have no chance w/o submitting since I’m intending to apply for Art

@avkhatri101 yeah I am applying for financial aid as well. Fingers crossed!

does stanford even consider computer science transfers? I bet no one leaves that program.

@Tygermas Thats’ the best we can do. Just remember that admission decision depends on the ability to fund your studies.

Hello all! I’m really late to this thread, but I submitted my application on the third of this month, so I’m also playing the waiting game! I’m excited to see how it all turns out. Best of luck to all of you!!!

Did you give them a call or email them about this glitch? Im sure they’ll try and work with you to get your application submitted.

Fingers crossed mates… After 4 months of essay revision process, now I can rest in peace…
