Stanford Waitlist Class of 2022

@LaMaisonDesLunes So if we hear that we’re on the extended waitlist, we still have shot?

@Vulterius yes if a person if put on the extended waitlist, they still have a shot. Note that the chances are still slim.

@LaMaisonDesLunes Just wondering, why would a college need to use an extended waitlist?

“We will provide all candidates holding a space on the waitlist with a final admission decision by July 1.” I hope we don’t have to wait that long.

@PNG3213 I’m not sure myself lol. I just know it’s a thing and that people have been admitted to Stanford through it.

Schools may go to the extended waitlist because of “summer melt”. Sometimes committed students will decide not to attend for various reasons such as wanting to take a gap year, financial considerations, second thoughts, or getting a very late admittance from another college, etc.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow!

So just to clarify, being put on the extended waitlist is the best possible result for tomorrow?

We are unsure but it seems like based on last year’s results, they notified everyone of their decision last year on June 1st.

Honestly hoping this ends tonight. It’s been a long time of waiting :frowning:

Has anyone heard anything?

Not yet :frowning: @judyceliu

Ok… I literally created a college confidential just to respond to this thread… RIP the wait… I would’ve expected something by like 6 today

The wait continues…

I feel like the admissions officers are following this thread and push back the release date by 1 week whenever we speculate.

@PNG3213 hopefully they don’t know our actual identities?

Stanford is probably contacting their secret network of spies across the USA and our IPs are being traced right now.

I check this every 10 mins but I have to admit that it’s probably over

Why is Stanford taking so long to release results? Compared to the past couple of years it never took this long.

This honestly kind of sucks  it’s like a rejection waiting to happen… like a gift, except not fun :open_mouth:
