why did i always think this was an ivy league school?

Probably because you hadn't been exposed to the overly-informative-elitist-college-obsessed-prestige-whoring culture of College Confidential. ;)

stanford really is prestigious, even more then most ivies. it is right up there with HYPMS: Harvard, Yale, Princeton, MIT, and Stanford. Still Mit and stanford are not ivies, but they are more prestigious.

because people no longer associate the term Ivy with the sports league but with very prestigious schools.

And i like the term 'prestige whoring'...gotta use that one sometime.

It's sometimes referred to as an "Ivy-plus" due to it's level of prestige. Do you live in Northern California? I live in NorCal and I always used to think that too. I was raised with that belief, haha.

If you add MIT, you can add Caltech to the list.
Then if you add Northwestern (Kellog is #1 MBA right?), you can add USC
(they're #1 football right, though they lost Rose Bowl this week!).

Which would make them #2 right? Unless your Matt Leinert I guess...

Any given day ... you win some, you lose some.
Hard to beat a 34 (?) game PAC 10 winning streak
