anyone hear from star program yet??

parent56,

Does STAR offer only Summer scholarship?

Thanks

no and i even emailed them and they didnt respond the finalist were supposed to be out on monday

ace stars is a program that allows undergrad research, there is no scholarship monies for the program. there is a summer program called ifle but i dont know much about that one.

lanceb, son also emailed yesterday as he understood the finalists would be notified from 2/1- 2/3,. hasnt had a reply either. i think there is a deadline to submit your research interests if notified as a finalist and as that is fairly soon, i think NO news is probably bad news. we think he will probably get a snail mail if not a finalist.

ace i went through some notes and there is actually a summer scholarship available to stars students

parent56,

Thanks. That would be very helpful as a REU.

will someone please inform me when they recieve their finalist notification or denile?? Thank You.

nothing here yet lanceb, have you heard anything?

no hopefully monday, i thought i was a sure thing for at least the finals

any idea how many apply, how many get interviews and how many are actually in the program?

i just heard today im not a finalist

anyone know anything about the gil scholarship through star program. i found only one reference to it. not sure if it is something you apply for or are chosen for??

Would someone know something about the STAR program in Chemistry or Biology? In general, what is the % of time a freshmen would spend on doing grunt work? Would he/she mostly just work for graduate students? Thanks

S just received an e-mail invitation for the interview. Does the student really have the chance to work with a professor or just work for the graduate students? Would someone please share any insight?
