Starbucks Job

Anyone work at Starbucks?

I've just started and I have some questions....anyone willing to help?

do you have to be 18 to work there? (sorry, i'm asking you questions)

No. 16's the minimum requirement.

I'll help if you get me free coffee! :)

-The Coffee Coot66

I heard they're really evil about hours and stuff because they've got this kooky scheme that they're 100% part-timers so they don't have to do the whole benefits thing.

Does Barnes and Nobles allow 16 years old to work there?

Yes. Do a quick google search and you'll find that out.

A lot of people from my school work there... most not over 18.

No you don't have to be 18.

My employer is great about the hours and I get all the benefits of working 20+ hours a week, which is considered full-time. Starbucks is actually a really good company that stresses quality and customer service.

Although it appears that I am the only barista...

Does anyone know how hard it is for a 16 year old to get a job at Starbucks on the weekends over the summer in NYC? It shouldn't be too hard right if you take into account how many starbucks NYC has? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

NYC has to be the starbucks capital of the world. There are probably more starbuckses in Manhattan alone than there are investment bankers working in the entire eastern seaboard.

Hey, Seattle is the Starbucks capital. Remember Austin Powers?

yeah, seattle is. it was founded there.

did you guys know starbucks had a union? hahaha.. online, they have forums where they discuss their wages, etc.

coffee bean and tea leaf totally wins :), but they don't have that in most places. it's like starbucks w/ tea and sans the italian-named cornsyrup drinks. plus free coffee for employees, environmental sustainability, and paid vacations (and whenever someone in your family dies) and sick days :):)

Don't push the customers to tip, you don't really deserve it or else everyone in food service would

I work at Starbucks. What questions do you have, Surfette? P.S. Awesome that you live in Hawaii.

Where I live (suburbs of Detroit), you have to be 18 to work at Starbucks.
