Hey, I recently started my college search. I'm a Junior at a small school in CT, and just want some suggestions on what schools might fit me well.

I have a 3.4 GPA, so I'm a mediocre student. I plan on majoring in Journalism, so a good Journalism program is important to me. I want the school I go to to have good sports, and a party scene of course, as well as a nice campus.

I've taken 2 AP classes so far (AP English Language and AP US History), and I plan on taking 1 or 2 more my Senior year (probably AP Lit and another). I'm looking for a good school, but obviously I'm not a good enough student to get into an Ivy or anything. Also, I want to go preferably out of state (I live in CT), but not too far away.

If theres any other info. you guys want to help give some suggestions, then just let me know. THANKS

Check out the Princeton Review website. You can input your data (grades and board scores) and your preferences such as

College size
Distance from home
Greek scene
Sports profile
men vs women ratio
Religious afffiliation or no affiliation
et al

Then the website will give you a list of schools to consider. I'll bet that you will find it very helpful. There are probably a lot of good colleges, i.e. ones where you would find success, that you have not heard of. The site may help you find them.

Check out Indiana University, Missouri and Ohio University. I have seen both Indiana and Ohio and they are beautiful. They also have very nice college towns. I don't know very much about Missouri but it is rated very highly for their journalism program.

University of Missouri is a gorgeous campus, one of the top-rated journalism schools, and would be a match for you. Columbia is a great college town, too.

thanks! oh i have another thing thats important that i forgot to mention; i want to go to a medium size school, less then 15,000 students would be good.
