Starting a business/website

Hey guys,
I'm only a high school sophomore, but I'm really interested in starting my own business /website. Since I was a little kid, I've been intrigued by entrepreneurship, and I think now's a pretty good time to start.

Does anyone recommend any links/websites that would help start my journey???

Thanks

Sure. Code Academy and Wordpress. Other classes through edX or Coursera, for more formalized instruction. Try something like WIX if you just want to get it going on.

Thanks @ItsJustSchool‌ I’ll check them out

Books on basic HTML and CSS are a good starting point. Make sure you learn something about CSS3 as you can make a lot better looking website using it.

Are you interested in eCommerce or doing web design for businesses? I do some web design over the summer for small businesses, it pays well (usually, lol), and small businesses aren’t looking for much.

If you are going into hardcore eCommerce (e.g website with thousands of customers), you might have to look into higher level programming languages (jQuery, Javascript, PHP, etc).

Making a plain old website is pretty darn easy. I haven’t tried doing an eCommerce site just yet but I am working my way their. Feel free to PM me with questions, I’d love to help you out.

Thanks, I’m really not sure yet since I am truly a total beginner.
Thanks for the answer tho, and I’ll message you if I have questions!

I recommend that beginners try using a CMS like wordpress or joomla first and then try programming. Youtube is also great for tutorials on things like this.
