Starting over and wanting to study abroad

Hi! I’m 23 and I’ll be starting at my local community college this fall. I’ve been to 1 uni, 2 different community colleges in the past and I’ve pretty much flunked out of all of them. My GPA at the uni was a 1.8, 1st CC was a 0.6 and 2nd was a 0.0. I knew I wasn’t mentally ready to go back to school after the Uni but my parents forced me to go, which caused me to not do to well at the 1st CC. 2nd CC I had medical issues so I wasn’t able to finish. I took a 4 year break to get myself together and I’m finally ready to start school and finish my degree. I plan to transfer to Temple, luckily the CC I’m going to has a dual admissions agreement with Temple and I only need a 2.5 GPA to get in. I’ll be studying international business and I want to study abroad but I don’t know which semester would be best to do this when I need to practically get a 4.0 to move my overall GPA any where near a 2.5. What are your suggestions?

Your GPA for transfer is reset at your new school. Your old grades will be taken into account but what you do now is what matters. So, go to office hours every other week and ask questions (write them in your notebook when theyvoxxye to you as you do the reading or the problems, or as you listen to the lecture. ) Get a tutor right away and work together for As. Go to review sessions if they’re offered.
You’ll tackle study abroad (which indeed matters a lot to IB majors) once you’re in Temple.
