Starting Upper Div before finishing Lower Div?

<p>So there's just one more lower div that I need, but I would rather take it next Spring. On the other hand, there's one upper div which I would like to do this coming Fall. My questions are:
1. Can I take an upper div before I finish all of my lower divs?
2. I'm a first year (going to be a second year this coming fall), and I haven't declared yet. Can I begin this upper div in the fall BEFORE I officially declare? This is because I'm not sure if I can declare without having finished all of my lower divs, like I said. </p>

<p>You can take upper divs before you finish your lower divs, and there’s no reason not to. The only thing that would potentially get in your way are enrollment restrictions that vary from class to class and department to department. So long as the class isn’t limited to declared majors or juniors and seniors you’ll have no problem. Just click the current enrollment link, and you’ll see who’s allowed in. Hope this helps.</p>
