So I just found out about the US State Dept’s Pathways internship program and I just know I have to do it! Now I might change my mind about it in the future (happens a lot) but I just want to hear some opinions on it.
- Does anyone know when the job announcements are posted? I want to do it next summer, but you have to be 16 at the time the announcement closes, and I'll turn 16 during next summer, so I'm scared it's hopeless until the summer after junior year. I mean, I could wait, I just don't want to.
- Would I be able to take a few days (less than a week) off? I already have a school trip planned for that summer and I can't get out of it, but I'd be okay with taking a few days off to go on the trip and then coming straight back.
- What do they look for in resumes? I'm interested in doing the senate page program, and I might do that next summer and the Pathways the summer after. Would having the page program on my resume help? How competitive are the positions? What EC's do they like? Could I get in as a rising junior?
- Does anyone have any kind of experience with it? What's it like?
Sorry for all the questions, even if you don’t have experience with it I’d love to hear your opinions and suggestions, thanks
