State Regents Exams - considered in admissions?

I live in New York and I plan to apply to a few colleges in the state (Vassar, Bard, NYU). My Regents scores are listed on my transcript.

So, uh... will colleges care much about the scores?

I spoke to an admissions counselor about this and the feedback that I received was that they are not treated separately. The Regents exams are considered course finals and are important in that they are factored into overall GPA but they are not considered as important scores in and of themselves.

Sorry, still somewhat confused on how Regents scores are treated.

Do you mean just for in-state colleges? Will out-of-state colleges care about Regents scores?

Difference is, Regents scores are listed on my transcript; other finals obviously are not.

Because Regents are unique to NYS the out of state schools do not place any emphasis on them. They stay with the national metrics of GPA/SAT1 scores, etc.

I asked Cornell, and the admissions rep said that the regents are looked at.
