State Residency and In-State Tuition

I have a question about the title above.

I am going to be a senior next year, and I live in Hawaii.

My parents are divorced and my dad lives in California. I plan on going to college in California, and was wondering since my dad lives in California, could I get in-state tuition? Even though my senior year of high school was in Hawaii, could I still get residency from my dad?

Check with the FA office of a school in CA. They’ll quickly tell you.

Anybody with anything else?

Sure. I agree with T26.

It is just a matter of a quick phone call during office hours. Be wary of time zones. I think that in order to apply in state and pay instate tuition you actually have to live in state. Though I’m sure you could fake it since you’re dad does live there. But I’m not sure.
