I plan on majoring in PoliSci and my advisor told me that Stats 350 is a prerequisite. Unfortuantely, I suck at math (SAT-R:720 W: 730 M:550) and I've bombed the first exam. I would appreciate it if anyone who has taken that class would share some advice, tips, things they've learned that might help me get through that class. My lecturer is Tom Venable by the way.

I had Tom Venable as well. I heard everyone hated him and ended up going to Gunderson's lecture instead. If you feel he's not a great teacher, you should do that, but I didn't think it was necessary. He's very boring, though.

I think it's overall an easy course that requires quant skills but not advanced math. Just know how to apply formulas. (You don't have to memorize them.) Do your homework and check it with somebody before handing it in. Use the coursepack to study, not the textbook. There's one group project. It's not too bad. Also, if you don't do well on the first two exams, you can try doing really well on the final.

for me, i'm also not that good at math, but i found that stat didn't require much math skills.
