Stats for QB scholars or QB finalists accepted to Stanford

Please post your stats if you are a QB NCM finalist or a QB scholar and were accepted to Stanford.

I will tell you the stats of one rejected last year QB Finalist but applied SCEA 2350/800/800/800 Hispanic Top few students in rank in IB Diploma program. Yep it is that hard to get into Stanford.

Those are some really impressive stats. They make me fear that I have no chance at Stanford. Maybe he got rejected because he applied SCEA instead of through QB.

Don’t worry, the student got some other very good offers. I am just keeping it real. I don’t think the QB vs SCEA had any impact at all. I think the ECs and the essays were lacking.

There was a QB student accepted to Stanford in 2014 who had a 26 ACT. Obviously he had other qualities that recommended him to the admissions people, but don’t focus too much on your stats. Keep studying hard and do your best on any future SAT/ACTs, there’s not much you can change now.

One D was accepted to Stanford in the match round, went to Williams. Stats were pretty standard for QB I think. 34 ACT, HS didn’t calculate GPA but all A’s or A-'s, 10 AP’s mostly 5’s, 2 instruments, varsity track and Xcountry (captain), I can’t remember what else she put on the app– the usual busy kid…but I don’t think it’s your stats that get you matched, once you’re accepted as a finalist it’s your job to think deeply about who you are, and find a way to convey that in your essays and your application. Your recommendations will also help you stand out, but you won’t ever get to see those though! Start on your essays over the summer and apply to fly-in programs next fall. Once you’re on a multi day campus program and admissions folk get to know you I believe it can really enhance your admissions chances. Also look widely at the QB colleges and try to get your focus off the prestige colleges. I guarantee you will be surprised and happy with what you find.
