Thanks =) well i dont know about the financial aid package yet, but we'll see.. quite honestly, though, although i <3 UMich, i don't think i'll be going there.. it's because i also applied to uva (which i dont like as much) + 5 other colleges. if i had to choose between uva and umich (if all 5 other colleges reject me), i'd probably end up going to uva over umich since it's instate--cheaper and closer. i realized this way before i applied, but i just wanted to keep my options open, so we shall see :)

That's too bad. UVa is awesome though, so it's cool.

3.7 W GPA
1280 SAT
19 of 100
Date sent: 12/23
Date accepted: 2/1

I will probably be going there, unless:
1.) Miraculously, MIT accepts me
2.) I fail the senior year
3.) I go to jail

wow 1280 SAT?

What do you think your hook or deciding factor was, highfive?

Highfive probably got an 800 on the math and a 580 on the verbal...remember guys, he is probably international.

you mean 480 verbal?

Ooops...yes.

Is this just a hunch, alexandre?

haha yea i kno it's kinda interesting seeing someone getting into umich CoE with 1280 in SAT
i did lots of extracurriculum including sports for junior varsity and like won an intramural competition in indoor soccer in this big gym here in Honduras
i am international
i have 720 in math, by the way and 560 in verbal
but SAT2 scores were good tho
790, 760, 730
ah and i'm korean living in honduras so maybe that made me an interesting person
or else it's just that they need a guinea pig in their lab

Hahahaa, yes! I remember you!

Talk about diversity...a Hondurian of Korean origin! Hehe! His 1280 SAT score is acceptable considering that English is probably his third language.

Congratulations Highfive!

Stats:
GPA: 4.29 (weighted, not sure how it is by Michigan's standards, however)
ACT: 29
SAT: 2180
Rank: 11 out of 688
Out of state from Illinois

I applied sometime around late November/early December and I found out about 2 weeks ago.

So did not many people get in this week? Do they have a system as to when they notify people? Seems like bunches of people hear at a time, then nobody hears for a while, then another bunch of people hear something.

im in to umich and im going to apply for honors but does anyone know when we hear about preferred to ross?

They usually release decisions every friday.

But do they have like a Friday of mostly denials, or a Friday of acceptances? Because last Friday(2/10), a few people got in, but this Friday(2/17), I don't think anyone here got in.

Just because no one posted in this forum does not mean nobody got in, it is seriously every Friday, whether it is 5 acceptances or 64, Friday is the day, and yes, every Friday except for Holidays and vacations.

I got in already, but I was wondering if UMich wants the CSS Profile. The CollegeBoard website says UMich doesn't require it like say, Northwestern would. But I read somewheres that they do use it. What is the official stance on it?

They want the CSS Profile as well as the FAFSA. One is for University grants, the other national grants, I believe
