Stats of Admitted Students

I'm really wonderin what's taken them to get mine at least complete on WA. In-state, applied 10-23, everything received 11/7 (even though I had mailed it all by early October), still not complete.

I really can't see myself being deferred with 33 ACT, 4.0 uw GPA.

yeah im wondering too. My WA says 10/25 as the date(idk if that is submitted or complete), but I havent heard anything even though im OOS I think my stats are well above avg.

I applied 10/23, it was "received" 10/25.

OOS
received 10/19; completed 10/26
GPA: 3.8ish Umich uw? (dunno how to calculate)
SAT: 2280 800 770 750

In-state
completed: 10/25
GPA: 3.96? UW
ACT: 34 w/11 writing
SAT: old: 1500 (780 720) new: 2240 (770 690 780)

I'm definitely getting rejected by the looks of those stats... if they "defer" me, can I submit the ACT score I get from the December test...if I score a 32-33+ will they reconsider? How does it work?

In-State
Completed- 10/26
Accepted - 11/21
GPA - 4.38 W 3.7-3.9 UW?
ACT - 33

OOS
Completed: 9/6
Accepted: 10/6
GPA-3.7UW 4.3ish W
SAT: 770M 740 V

Wow. I'm definately getting rejected next year. I don't think I'll even apply...with a 3.6uw and 1400sat.

remember, these ppl who post on here with those sky high stats are either lying, or represent the top 10% or so of applicants. CC kids tend to be some of the brightest. unless they're lying about their stats. i'd say you'd get in lil_killer129, as long as you apply early.

Anyone get in today?

I got in last wednesday....guess I missed this thread.
35 ACT
3.85 GPA
various other awards and presidencies...but I think being U Mich TASPer helped, lol.

pianoking, do you think they'll give taspers good scholarships? U of M is becoming my top choice (besides Yale, which is a long shot and expensive), but I really need some scholarships to be able to go there (I probably won't get financial aid).

They had an info session for us during week four or five, and they said that if we applied early enough in the year we'd get a lot of money.
Any TASPer will probably get a lot of money, even if you didn't go to U Mich... but you should probably apply right away if you haven't already.

I'm in the same boat as you. Make far too much to get any aid, and far too little to pay for it... lol, middle class always gets screwed.

What is TASper? Does it increase your chances for every school that you apply to? How do I join?

pianoking, i got admitted on 11/23, already got my package in the mail. My app was complete by Oct 19, so according to the website, that's soon enough.

When we did our info session at UT, i didn't even consider michigan as a possibility. I was pretty morbidly obsessed with Yale. But my factota hooked me up with some people at the Michigan paper (I want to be a journalist) and it's really starting to look like a great option for me. I want to major in Poli/Sci, and Michigan is great for that too.

a TASPer is someone who participated in the Telluride Association Summer Program. It's a highly selective summer program for rising seniors centered around the humanities. You apply around january of your junior year. The Telluride Association has a house at Michigan, where they give room and board scholarships, so they're very closely tied with the University.

Does this program have a website so I can get more information?

Google "telluride association" and you'll find the website.

Additionally, go to the High School Life forum on CC and check out the giant TASP thread that's floating around there.

Let's keep this thread about Stats of Admitted Students. Anyone get in today or recently?

Sorry letoutpuissant, but I just have one more thing:

How did you get your aid package? I got that big folder/viewbook but no financial aid paper.
