hi, not been able to find this anywhere - can we get a quick status check on posters to the harvard board?

oh man, fishies and sophomores?! you guys are starting EARLY. make sure you look far and wide for your college choices. you might be surprised at what you find. but harvard is pretty cool.

I think it's great that younger high school kids are so motivated on collegeconfidential. Just don't spend all your time on the boards, and actually go out and do something :).

kara, californiakid - gotta start early if the goal is as prestigious as harvard :) so you guys juniors and seniors? or in harvard already?

Current status: Sophomore (2008)
Goal: Harvard would be cool.
Location: US
Anti-Hook: RANK :[

thanks for the advice. yeah I come to the boards every now and then, but I'm not obsessed or anything, (considering I'm only a freshman). I just figured that I want to get into an ivy, and its better to have an early start.

Anyway, building off of what I posted yesterday

GPA: 3.8(not the best...)
Courses: Honors this year, signed up to do AP European History and AP Lit and Comp in sophomore year
EC's: Student Government, youth section of my city's newspaper (writer), and various community service projects (looking for a consistant one for this summer)

I've talked to the debate instructor so I'm doing debate next year for sure, as well as skiing and national honor society.

Current status: 8th grade
Goal: Harvard
Location: CT
Hooks: Double Legacy, brother currently attends Harvard.

I'm still learning about the college admissions process...this is a great website. Californiakid, you are my idol!!! She was accepted to Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford, MIT, Caltech, and Penn!

Jeez, you guys start early. I didn't even start considering colleges until junior year, and I only started considering Harvard the summer before my senior year.

But, good luck anyway.

I just started planning my freshman high school courses. I can't wait for high school!

Yeah..you kind of have to ease into high school. I remember in middle school, I never studied for a single test, was obsessed with shopping, and still got straight As. And then I signed up for all these tough courses freshmen year (with evil teachers) and got straight Bs. Make sure you develop really good study habits. And orchestra is a good idea

Thanks for your input :)

Hey has anyone taken AP classes as a sophomore here on CC? (I'm sure there are sophomores out there who've taken AP). My question is, was sequencing an issue? My teachers back me up on going to AP next year, but it would mean skipping honors american history and honors american lit. I would be going straight to Ap European history and AP Language and Composition
