Status not up to date through Common App

D applied to SUNY Purchase, Cornell and Geneseo with the Common App. The application status at Cornell says all materials have been received but the Purchase application says her application is missing the letter of recommendation and HS transcript, both of which were uploaded online.

Could it be that the status has not been updated by the college or should she contact the school and/or GC about it?

Thanks for any advice.

Have her double check that she actually clicked ‘Add Recommendation’ for Purchase. My S didn’t originally do this, and he noticed that the teacher rec status wasn’t changing, but he was able to click ‘Add Recommendation’ for the school in question and then all the pieces fell into place. Do the same for the counselor, make sure ‘add recommendation’ was used.

If you check these an all is good, it could very well be that the schools application information is just backlogged right now since so many applications were due recently. Wait 2-3 weeks and then call or email admissions to see if they have everything. While you wait, you can double check all the other pieces that you/your D own, including payments, which I didn’t do correctly on one college because the payment was not directly through common app but the common app showed it as green.

Good luck to your D … the waiting is tought but when an accept comes, she’ll have forgotten the long wait.

Sometimes this takes a while to update. If it takes more than a day, then contact support. If you submitted and got an email, you should be fine. If you paid and got a receipt you should be fine. If you added all your school officials and it is ok on the SF page, you are fine.
**Sometimes the status just doesn’t reflect the reality. ** If you are really worried, write Common App Support. They can tell you if all is well and escalate to get the status updated.
