status page

Mine says I will be able to check the status of my application in 2-3 weeks. It must be a glitch; that's the message I got in the days after I sent in my application.

They're probably just preparing for Friday, so no worries.

Yeah, that's the same message I got right after I sent it. He's not rejected.

UF is playing with my feelings =[

With my oldest, the day of admissions...
His classmates started hearing (from their status page) in the afternoon (during school) on that day. Son called me and asked me to start looking it up and let him know, because he couldn't get access to a computer and had to stay after school for a practice and then he was going to a basketball game. I kept checking, but nothing. Meanwhile, other classmates had received word, so he kept calling from his cell but I couldn't give him anything. Grrr. It was very nervewracking- I guess they were posting the results in batches. Finally, by around 7 or 8 PM, he got his online notification. I printed it out, took it up to his school (where he was watching the game) and gave it to him in the parking lot as he was walking out. His girlfriend found out about 6 hours before he did.

Also, make sure you read the entire letter...

At the same basketball game, son's friend was totally demoralized because he had checked his status during the day. It began with something like, We are sorry to tell you that we cannot admit you for the fall class...
He clicked the exit button.
Meanwhile, he HAD been accepted, as long as he started in the summer term. He didn't read that far along, though. So all the while my son was calling and asking me to check the status, he was thinking, damn if my friend didn't make it, I probably didn't either.
So my son's friend called his dad, told him the 'bad news' and went to the basketball game to cheer himself up. Friend's dad, thinking, "WTH?" because his son really is a great person and student, decided they should look it up again just to see what the heck UF says when it rejects you. The NEXT MORNING... He had his son sign in and read the whole thing, and lo and behold! He'd been accepted.

So now... where does son's friend go and is very happy and doing well at???
UCF. Honors program, with merit scholarship.

Heh, I got accepted into the same UCF program. My mom has kinda been forcing me to consider it for a while, and even suggesting I choose it over UF. (Well, he does seem happy there, right?) I'll wait for my UF decision first though, thanks mom.

Yeah my parents are forcing me to consider it as well, along with FSU honors. Cheaper, nicer dorms, many other benefits, but we'll see. lol

wow... my status says check back in 2-3 weeks as well... lol
weird how it changes several times over the course of a day

OK, I didn't mean to make everyone here into TURNCOATS.
I have two kids at UF, and they love it!

Slap my face. Don't lose me now! Gators, chomp chomp, all that.

All of you students who are applying, waiting, chewing on nails... you all have fantastic futures ahead of you, will do great things, wherever you go to college. The stories I've read here on the UF forum are inspirational. Thanks for sharing, and best wishes!

But... pssst. (whispered)... UF is the best. (I have to say that- I'm a gator mom)

Haha! :) Thanks for sharing, doubleplay. Now if only I had a basketball game to go to...

And...I have the 2-3 weeks message as well. Grrrr... Oh well. Hope that doesn't make a difference. I still have some hope. =D

My status page changed to entry term: Spring 2009.
I do have dual enrollment credits, but I don't want to start in the Spring.
It is just a glitch like the "check back in 2-3 weeks"?

i have the 2-3 weeks, too.

The Office of Admissions has received your application for 2008 Summer B and is processing your application. Please return to the admissions website in two-to-three weeks to check the status of your application.

***?

I do know of someone at my daughter's school last year who applied for the Fall but was accepted for the Spring. He went to FAU this Fall and is now at UF.

We better not have to wait 2-3 weeks.

My daughter's status page now says:

The Application Status function is not available while admission decisions are being processed. Please check back when your decision is expected.

Strange I can still access mine and it says the whole Expect a Decision on February 15th thing. Maybe because I'm applying as a dual-enrollment transfer...

it now says "The Office of Admissions has received your application for 2008 Fall and is processing your application. Please return to the admissions website in two-to-three weeks to check the status of your application."

Mine says:

"Your transfer application to the University of Florida is complete.

Applicants who have earned 60 or more semester hours of credit will transfer directly into their college and major as junior-level students.

Your application has been referred to your college and a decision should be available soon. Admission decisions for upper-division candidates are made by the college."

yea knjeru, mine says the exact same thing, I'm a dual enrollments transfer who'll have 60 credits by the end of this semester from SFCC and Eastside. Last week they also changed my status to Summer B 2008..I don't know why.
