Stay for 7 Days

Does anyone have any idea where in Austin I can stay for 7 days between apartment move-outs and move-ins? Trying to find a location on craigslist would be a worrying last ditch effort for me, considering that I would not be able to scout them out until after I sign the potential leases, very soon. Hmmmm. Help!

I should mention that this would take place in early August, while I'm still taking summer classes, unfortunately.

Well, if you wanted certainty you could always consider renting a hotel for a week, this is expensive though.

It is very expensive, especially considering that I do not have a car to drive very far from campus, at all–or drag my things there for storage.

Unfortunately none of my friends are staying in early August, so this is not really an option, either.

I wonder if advertising a request for a room (or shared room) at a decent price might work…but very risky. Somehow being homeless for a week does not appeal to me.

Did you ask the leasing office if you could stay late or move in early? All the places I’ve lived off campus let people move in early for a fee.

Unfortunately I have…and they usually do, but for some reason this span of a week is the most barren in terms of letting me take the lease earlier. I am assuming it has something to do with following the UT schedule, since my complexes have all been near to campus/Hyde Park locations? I am able to move in early in June or July, but not in August! I simply can’t afford to pay for an extra month I don’t need to stay during, unfortuantely. :/

Thank you so much, so far, everyone. :)
