Moving in and Orientation

I'm moving into UTAustin in january and will be attending the transfer orientation on the 8th but the move in date isn't until the 11th. What do they expect out of state students to do for 3 days with no place to stay? Am I gonna to just be screwed? Was wondering if anybody here knows what to do because the housing offices are closed until january 2nd for the winter break.

For freshman students, our orientation was in the summer, and we could either stay at Ut for $50/night or in a hotel, which I did, since my parents went with me. It looks like a hotel is your best bet but you better book quickly since lots of people will be in your boat as well.

UT doesn’t expect (or care) about anything from you at this point except for your tuition. You chose to transfer knowing and accepting the conditions given. Pay for a hotel, or pay the 50/night fee until you can officially move in.
