Hi y'alls, I'm currently a junior and my family wants to move to Florida by the end of June.. I honestly do not want to leave being that I intend on getting a Public Major and that there are more colleges with that major (that are accredited) in California. Also, I hear that education is better in California than it is in Florida (is that true?). I have around 5-6 schools to choose from for California whereas I only have three in Florida which are U of Florida, U of Miami, and U of S. Florida. And I come from a low income backfground, I wouldn't want to deal with out-of-state fees, help please.

Since you lived in Florida for a year by that time, I do believe you will be a Floridian resident thus in state fees. As for schools, education varies. You should judge a school by its program, not necessarily overall. To help this, check how high the accreditation is at each prospective school. If it’s accredited at the highest level, you should be fine regardless of the school.

What is a public major though? I never heard of it, and when I google it, the best search comes with “public health”

Agh, sorry, I meant Public Health major. And I plan and want to go to school in California, so moving to Florida would put my financial situation in jeopardy, because of out of state fees. Ill try to see how high the accreditation is , will update in a few minutes (Thank you so much!)

http://public-health-programs.findthebest.com/compare/147-162-179/Loma-Linda-University-vs-University-of-California-Berkeley-vs-University-of-South-Florida These are the results that I got. Apparently U of Florida’s program is bad, so now I only have one choice for schools to go to in Florida

To be honest, I’m not sure how how to read the rankings, so I can’t help you there. Although it could be my bias, I suggest using a difference source. find the best dot com, doesn’t give me a credible vibe.
