Congrats to your son PA-C!!! I’m sure he will love Exeter.

Congrats! Don’t worry about him, he will be fine. By this time next year he’ll be an old pro, he’ll have more friends then you ever thought possible, and when you ask him if he wants to go back next year he’ll look at you in astonishment for even thinking that he might not.

Wonderful!

The adventure in parenting is that it doesn’t come with an instruction manual.

Thank you! It’s so nice to see these usernames of the people who have helped me from the beginning now seeing my son’s success! We never could have done it w/out you!

Update: Today in the carpool son announced to his friends that he was going to Exeter next year in a clear calm confident voice!

When he drove by the high school today with his Dad and saw some kids playing lacrosse, he excitedly told DH how a kid at Exeter was telling him all about lacrosse and that it was just like hockey but on the field… maybe he’ll want to try club lacrosse?!

Anyway, I was happy to hear him saying these things!

That’s beautiful, looks like you’re all headed in the right direction, to Exeter. Happy, happy!!! Never a dull moment around here! Keep us posted, I’ll surely need some advice in a few months :]

Kentschoolie- Thanks and sorry to go against your prediction! I will say if son was more into applying again next year you may have been right! He definitely did NOT want to go through the app process again and he felt stongly that he wanted to have all 4 years of HS in the same place.

Sadie: didn’t mean to sound harsh with the now or never- maybe the info above explains more what I meant by that.

Congrats PA-C! I hope Exeter is all you and your son hope for.

Thanks PEAteacher!

Wonderful news and good fortune to your son.

Hey PA-C,
Really glad you guys accepted. If your son has facebook, tell him to add Zach Waterman (don’t need to be confidential anymore). The class of 13’ at exeter has formed a community and about 10 of us talk to eachother every night on aim. It’s a cool way for us to get to know our classmates. See you in September!

Update: the state passed a charter school cap for next year- this means son’s charter school may have to hold a reverse lottery- meaning some kids who are already there may not be able to return next year. This also does not bode well for the school’s future since without expansion it is hard to survive financially.

I am very upset since this school was such a wonderful experience for my son for the past 2 years and I love all the staff and families there.

However, I can’t help feeling like we dodged a bullet here. :(

I feel sorry for that, but I’m happy for you !
