I was just wondering - who stayed home to study for their AP exams?

I'm considering doing so for my APWH exam because I wanted to re-read the entire book one last time, take a practice exam, and read some sample essays online in order to fully prepare for the exam. However, I have been getting a borderline 4/5 on the practice exams I've taken so far, so I'm not sure if I need to. If I do go to school tomorrow, I'd probably only have around 4 total hours to study (the practice exam would take up three).

Anyways, just post whether you stayed home or not to study (and what your situation in terms of preparedness was at the time) and whether you think I should stay home or not.

I would study, keep it fresh, and when you feel tired or like your staying up will have a negative impact, sleep, its all cost benefit analysis.

yea i did for two days lol for ap chem i didnt go on friday or on monday. and for ap calc i didnt go the day before :D. Yes stay home …cramming works but dont stay up too late lol atleast 7 hours of sleep then your good …this is a given …STAY HOME!

I stayed home the day before Biology. (It was on a Monday, though.)

A lot of people at my school did…and then after the AP test went back home instead of continuing regular school day.

Funny thing is my Latin teacher recommends it (by saying that in Britian people stay home for like a month…she’s British)

Hahaha I did that today for the upcoming Art History Exam.

I did that last year for my World History exam.

My teacher was really cool, and the class was chill, but we got very little prep for the exam.

I skipped school the day before, reading and highlighting ALL of the Barron’s prep book. Took about 12 hours to learn all of it, but I guess it was worth it, because I got a 5 :)

Would you guys recommend me staying home even though I’m already pretty familiar with most of the subject material? I’m mainly considering staying home so I am as best prepared as I can be, but my parents really don’t want me to be staying home since I’ve been playing video games in part of my free time :(

I went straight home after my AP US Gov exam to study for the AP Stat exam, so in a way I stayed home.

I stayed home the day before my Calc exam but I couldn’t really concentrate on studying that much… I also stayed home the day before APUSH and read most of the amsco book

Stayed home day before APUSH too. I tried to finish amsco, but sadly i could not :(. But luckily the essays were on the topics that i crammed most on.
I didn’t stay home for psych, but i probably should’ve. >< Oh and luckily my classes didn’t do a lot of work that day.

I’ve barely studied for my AP exams thus far. My HS classes are quite comprehensive.

Well, I go home with the intention of resting or studying, but usually end up on CC or reading manga. And when I do go to school, I don’t bother with going to class.

Moral of the story: go to class. At least you’ll be semi-productive, and chances are your classmates shan’t be there, so it’s like you have a study hall anyway.

I should imagine that if half of us had brains like yours, we wouldn’t need to.

For some reason, I feel that your classes are more the exception than the rule.

I just stayed home the morning of the AP Euro test. Honestly, staying home is useful just to get some extra rest. Since I had taken 2 AP tests before Euro, I decided to skip periods 1-3 just because I was really tired. Staying home to cram does not help.

I’m staying home tomorrow so I can review for AP Macro + AP Micro. I’m not really worried about the exams I rather just relax + sleep in the day before. :)

Eh, I think I’ll cut periods 1-5 tomorrow. School is pointless, anyway.

Our school has a terrible policy in which you are counted as truant if they “know” you skipped school to study for the next day’s AP. How, I have no idea, but they have some strange policy. I just studied in all of my classes instead; the teachers never pay attention.

Preparedness: 2%. I’m staying home today and plan to read/study for the next ~10 hours. :)

What are you studying for?

AP World History. :)
