Steinhardt MCC

Hi,

I'm posting here to know more about the program and I would appreciate it if you could take some time to answer a few questions.

How tough is the program in terms of admissions?
What are the most important factors in the admissions process?
Do you have any idea what the admission rate for MCC is?

Thanks for your time.

Search this forum. I’m a senior in MCC and I’ve written dozens of posts about MCC admissions.

Thanks for answering. I’ve read a lot of your posts and almost all of them helped, but I still can’t find a clear answer to these questions.

I’ve searched all the forums about MCC and have failed to find answers to the questions above. Anyone?

I only know the second one: for Steinhardt, fit is really important. Since you are applying to a specific program (unlike CAS) they are looking for demonstrated interest in your anticipated major. That can be expressed through supplements and your essay as well as your ECs. So they really look for creative, passionate supplement answers and essays.

I don’t know the answer to 1 or 3, sorry. I don’t know if they release individual numbers for the departments like that.

Thanks a lot! Last question: is it the hardest program to get into at steinhardt?

To be honest, no. I know the music and studio art programs take very few students, plus those majors are based on portfolio/audition. They have higher standards because there are fewer spots.

Thanks for your help!
