Hello everyone!
I have been accepted to American University in Washington DC but I am still questioning this one requirement I have to complete called the STEP program. Can anyone tell me what it is for exactly and why only a group of students get chosen to be part of it? I just need some clarification and extra information. For anyone who is currently part of this program (or was) I will be more than welcome if you shared your experience with me. I just want to have a better view and knowledge of this program.
Thank you!
Here’s a link to information about STEP (Summer Transition Enrichment Program).

According to AU web:
“STEP (Summer Transition Enrichment Program) is an invite only program at American University that provides incoming freshman with the tools and resources they need for a head start as an Eagle. The primary goal of STEP is to help students succeed in the classroom. This intensive seven-week residential program is built to support the transition to college. It provides students with an academic and social edge, while familiarizing them with Washington D.C. and AU’ s campus resources. The program’s primary focus is academic success, however we also encourage students to form lasting friendships through regular social and extracurricular activities. STEP 2017 will be held Sunday, June 25-Friday, August 18, 2017”
Hoping that a student alum of STEP will give you further information about their experience.
Good luck!
