JHU is known for it’s Math and Sciences. Is it a good fit for an English Major interested in Theater?

Don’t know about the theater piece, but the English, History, and Anthropology departments historically have been very strong.

I also don’t know about theater, but we have a really good “Writing Seminars” program. From what I understand this is an English program focused on writing.

Yeh, no theater, but strong English literature and creative writing departments. You should really learn to write well in either. When I was there, the atmosphere was career oriented and to a large extent pre-law and pre-MBA even in those.

Among best schools for English majors interested in theater: Brown, Yale, vassar, northwestern, Kenyon.

Harvard is also beginning a new theater major, I think. You could probably combine English with theater.

You might look at Carnegie Mellon, too. It has a strong Theater program and is not quite all about STEM.
