Hey... I was just wondering what stereotypes ya'll had heard/believed about the South. Or any other region. What stereotypes about your location bother you the most? Which ones are deserved?

They're fake-nice. Not Minnesota-nice :) I like Minneosta-nice.

yeah, that one tends to be true.

I ****ing hate it when people can't spell 'y'all'. Thank you for keeping alive the stereotype that Southerners are stupid.

jeez, typo. it's just an online forum, anyway.

are you asking this because the question i asked you and it stirred up some curiousity in your mind

yep. just trying to see what the first thing that comes to people's minds is. it'll be so sad if they all say "racist".

the best one......confederates the ones that say "come pick my cotton, rebell pride"

lol i always use that on some of my black friends.....boy do they get angry....but they know i joke around

really?....wow.....i go to a all white school, so black people cant really do much, but they know i joke around....they make fun of me

our school is 2/3 white, 1/3 black.

just say it once in a while as a joke.....nger come pick my cotton, bt rebel pride, rebel pride..............................its funny though.....

Ni**er? I can't say that-- I'll get disowned.

idk i love to joke around.....when i say that word to them....they get soo ****ed....its soo funnny.......we make fun of each other so much............its just crazy.....i guess let me say it because im their friend.....i can understand your position

How strange. We're very sensitive about 'ni**er' around here. I guess it's because we don't want to add any fuel to the racist fire.

 I prefer to spell it ya'll, because to me, the word is ya + all, thus the apostrophe is replacing the second a.

It's all irrelevent because I say "yuns" more than ya'll.
