Is it possible to major in economics at Stern? or is it just finance, marketing, management etc

I believe economics is a CAS major. Though you can double major in CAS economics from Stern.

To correct what Seoul said - econ is a CAS major, but the major also exists in Stern. If you're a Stern student, you would do the Stern econ major, which has all the Stern core classes and slightly modified econ program requirements. You would NOT have to double major in CAS to get an econ major (therefore, a Stern student can major in econ and only econ)

Economics is cross departmental, in other words, each econ class has spaces set aside for stern and CAS students. It ****s over the CAS because it gives less spots than stops demanded but helps stern people because it gives almost exactly stops as spots demanded... That being said, econ is a major at stern. The only difference is for stern you only have to take like 8 classes (inc. calc) and for CAS you ahve to take like 13 (inc. calc)
