Stern external transfer requirements

Hi all. Although it's early, I'm considering a sophomore transfer to NYU Stern for Fall 2013. Stern was one of my top two choices as a HS Senior, but I was ultimately wait-listed to eternity. I was looking at the sophomore transfer requirements and noted that there are only three: Calculus, Microeconomics, Writing. The problem is that I have been awarded AP credit at my current institution for Writing (And maybe Micro, will have to confirm this), but Stern does not transfer this credit in accordance to it's policy. Though I would love to attend Stern next Fall, I do not want to take a class at my school that I already placed out of just so I can settle the transfer requirements for Stern. Furthermore, I may not even be accepted by Stern, so I may just be taking these classes for nothing (as I already received AP credit for it at my current school.)

Is there any way around this tandem (summer classes, special exceptions, etc.)? Maybe I'm interpreting the transfer requirements incorrectly?

All responses appreciated

I suggest contacting the admissions office. You don’t want to get the wrong information, especially in regards to transfer requirements. Offices should be open on Monday.

Will do.

I just came across the Additional Requirements Page – [Additional Program Requirements](<a href=“Transfer Applicants”>Transfer Applicants) – and it makes no mention of Microeconomics being a required course, rather listing it as recommended/suggested.

However this page – http://www.stern.nyu.edu/programs-admissions/undergraduate/admissions/transfer-applicants/index.htm</a> – states otherwise. Guess I’ll clarify this tomorrow.
