Stern or Wharton?

Wharton is not better by a hair..wharton is better by alot

country_crazy, have some pride. Wharton is miles above Stern.

If one could compare cross-admit yields...I imagine that would put an end to this debate

Wharton, by all means.

I think I'd also recommend Wharton, since it has the established name and is generally better ranked than Stern. However, definitely go to Stern if: you want year-round city opportunities, have some deep desire to be in NY (I personally hate NY, but love Philly), or want to study International Business, since Stern has an amazing international business program. Plus, if you go to Wharton, you have the wonderful opportunity to spend four years with me =]

ru kidding, my friend goes to stern, he said everyone he met there, either got rejected or didn't apply to wharton....(prob lying), and he himself, is a wharton transfer ap, and he has met a bunch of others tryin to go from Stern --> Wharton

he was rejected by wharton, offered 15,000 w. stern scholars at nyu

peace, end of debate

Just out of curiosity, did you get into both? Or are you just a junior planning for the future?

This city difference stuff is a joke- as if Stern students are going to walk down Broadway between classes and hobnob with Merrill Lynch executives.

Here's another angle- my job out of Wharton was with one of the most recognizable financial investing firms in the world- they recruited at 13 schools- none was Stern.

I have the same "problem." I'm visiting both schools to see which one, and it's complicated by the fact that Stern gave me some money but Penn gave me none.

I'd take mountains of debt to go to Wharton over Stern. Stern isn't even the best school in its own city.

If you got into Wharton, I don't see why it would be an issue (unless you couldn't afford it, but in my opinion being in debt is well worth it)

Hah, I was happy about getting into Stern (albeit rejected from Wharton) with a scholarship.... I feel like this thread was designed to hurt my feeling or something =P

Jokes aside, though I'm already facing a dilemma between trying to get off Rice's crazy waitlisting system and attending Stern... if I do attend Stern I will probably make attempts to transfer into Wharton or Columbia.

and while I do agree that Wharton is better, Stern does have int'l business that can you can co-major with Finance or something... if I do go to Stern im going to start preparing to buff up my credentials for a Wharton transfer (any advice?)

Meanwhile in other news, can some of you Whartonites cheer me up on the prospects of a finance major? Ive been having some doubts about it lately, having finance being referred to as, "socially irrelevent and tedious," and am wondering if I really want to spend my future in an iBank... ntm I hear the curving at Stern (and likely for Wharton too) might ruin my chances of getting into a top law school should I decide that business isn't right for me.... (Law has always perked my interest)

That would be Columbia...though they don't do undergrad business
