Sticky SItuation after Promposal

So to cut down from my previous thread and take out all the drama from it. I've spent the night sleeping on it and I've got it down to the bare essentials.

The basic storyline is that I asked this girl at work to go to prom with me and she seemed to really want to (or made it act like it) but had told me someone else had already asked her a few hours ago at school (which would explain the rose at school to which she had said it was from a friend of hers when asked before) At the end of our shift, she said if I wanted to go out and do something for valentines but I turned her down because to me, it felt like she was doing it because she felt bad for me!

This got me thinking, should I in return ask her out in a couple weeks time, let things settle down first or do you think her asking me was just to make me feel better (I hate it when girls do that lol)?

I'm planning to ask another girl on Tuesday as well...if that matters?

I've asked my friends and I've laid out the possible options:
a) ask girl 1 (the one I work with and asked to prom already) out to a date and ask girl 2 to prom. (in conjunction to her going with another guy)

b) ask girl 1 out and don't ask girl 2 but most likely won't be going to prom with girl 1

c) ask out girl 2 and go to prom with her

At this point, I'm not sure what to do, I like girls 1 and 2. I can connect with both of them...(for lack of a better word)

Sorry for the long blurp from this:
