So yeah, obviously I'm in Stiles and class of 2014 and so far, with one exception, all I've heard is that the exterior is hideous, there's more singles there, its being rennovated w/ mixed results, and that freshmen dorms are ok...

so, for all current stilesians, can I have more info, ie, how's food, how's the master, what's the furniture include, why you all love it, in other words practical stuff that I can actually use ;)

for people who got placed in Stiles this year, if on CC, what were your thoughts? What have you heard?

Everyone else, feel free to comment, but please, no one tell me it's ugly again, I haven't found any reasonable pictures and Yale has enough conventionally pretty ones, so stop the aesthetics :)

I don’t think Stiles is that ugly. It’s just different. Doesn’t matter - for freshman year, you won’t be able to see the college. You also won’t have a Dining Hall, so the food question is also slightly irrelevant for freshman year. Master Pitti is great!! I’m not in Stiles, but I’ve met him a couple of times and he’s amazing (IMO). New dean.

The most important thing about your residential college is getting to know the people there. If you like the people there, and I’m sure you’ll find kindred spirits, then everything about your college (the food, master, furniture) will be better than the others.

Read this article, it’ll give you some more insight into the different colleges :
