A few days ago, I checked my application status for UChicago, and to my surprise, my english teacher's rec, sent LATER than that of my physics teacher's, arrived and was processed by Nov. 4 - my physics teacher's has yet to be processed. Now that I have looked on the MIT website, I see that my physics teacher's rec has not arrived there either. I checked with my physics teacher, and he claims to have sent them on Oct. 28. Is this just the way colleges do the admissions process, or do I have reason to worry?

Ben Jones has said in several places that they were swamped with paperwork right at the deadline, and that it may take several weeks to get everything logged. Please don't worry.

Yeah, I was worried too, but they got my last rec letter in today. So it's probably not worth being worried about.

Me too, it seems pretty inconsistent. Did you send yours via a carrier? I used DHL and was relieved to find the tracking confirm it's receipt. A week later, it was updated. Maybe those who send it by carrier, somehow, get it entered faster? Or is everyone using a carrier?
