yep, i agree. temptations. and true it dose cost a lot. i got accpeted into pratt too with 10K each year i attent. it is a huge lot off of parents backs. i was wait-listed by Parsons too. which was my first choice.

It's werid almost that Pratt has a lower accptence rate than Parsons and accpet way less student for fashion and yet....i dont even know now. confusing...

BUT! think about this! you can always transfer into Parsons after your first year. you have to look at some numbers. parson accpeted a large percent of transfer student. here are some numbers from college board.

Total number of transfer students who applied: 1,984
Total number of transfer students who were admitted: 1,242

Thank you, Odyism! I suspected that it might equate to 'thousand', but I thought it better safe than sorry, haha.

Shuya, maybe you should visit Otis (on the off chance that you haven't) and see if you like it. I don't like the campus at all, but perhaps you will. Personally, I would go to Pratt just because NYC is supposedly the "it" place to be when pursuing fashion. I also think it would be a great experience to live in a place other than the West Coast; expand my horizons!

It's definitely difficult to make a decision which could alter the rest of your life. Good luck to everyone

Argh I STILL haven't heard from Pratt!!! a;dkfjapoeijf;a

Congratulations to you all though! And Kalonity 13k is their highest scholarship (for non-arch majors) so that's definitely something to be proud of. :)

:) thanks for letting me know caressemh...I did not know that!

in any case, yeah...schools. I am kind of getting anxious (not because I want to go so much as I just want my letters :P) as almost everyone has gotten their Parsons letters + my friend just got into Lang yesterday. So what's up with the Parsons/Lang program? I think I'll call them tomorrow.

Acceptance rates were really weird/low this year. RISD's was under 30% apparently.

Yeah architecture majors can get up to $15,000 (what's so special about them??? :P) and everyone else, up to $13,000. I wished they offered the opportunity for more scholarships too.

Well, I don't know how long it takes but for instance, I have a friend who applied to Berklee College Of Music in december and he only got his answer about a week ago

Thanks! well, I'm going to NYC for sure for my future. but, i also want to expeneince the difference between two of the top fashion captiols. i mean, Otis is the best of the west and Parsons, of crouse the best of the East. So, hopefully i will expenice both places. I will transfer after my first year for sure.

ARGH
so I called the new school today- Parsons hung up on me, and Lang told me they never received my test scores.
asqjsdh2l3r1#@$cxaslk

I'm ridiculously **ed because my SATs would actually make a huge difference, but it's too late to send now. Oh, and at first they were like, you're not in our database....five minutes later oh nevermind we found you. x_x

For anyone who hasn't gotten a response from Parsons, I would email/call to find out, because chances are they lost something of yours and never bothered to let you freaking know.

Kalonity, that's very rude of Parsons! Lang should've mailed or emailed you a reminder!!!! So it's not even your fault or anything >:O!!! Ugh. Is it really too late to send your scores? Because I'm sure your SATs would've made a big difference.

Thank you for the support freakyne55...
I got rejected from Pratt today, which sucks because I really thought I'd be accepted.
High hopes for RISD, but I don't think it'll happen.

kalonity, I agree with lolita! Is there any way to resolve this? They have an online system where you can check the status of your application; if they didn't mail you information regarding it, then inform them of that error & see if you can get an extension. I had difficulty in sending my transcript to them too, and it wasn't until my fourth attempt when I hand-mailed it that they finally received it. I don't know why it's so difficult for Parsons to receive mail, but definitely try to see if you can sort it out! Good luck!

reptarmania, I'm sorry to hear that. I wish you the best of luck for RISD.

For everyone waiting on RISD, I called RISD today and they told me that they mailed all the letters on Tuesday, so we should all be receiving it soon.

Hopefully tomorrow! I'm going insane about it.
Here's some work from my portfolio if anyone's curious, comments and suggestions are very welcome and appreciated:

FINALLY I got the letter from Pratt! The final college I applied to. I got the presidential scholarship, too! Unfortunately it's still too expensive for me but thats okay because I want to go to MICA more, anyway. Congrats to everyone who got into their schools and good luck to those still waiting!

congrats Lolita! And good luck to everyone else! Ahh art school, so exciting...I'm the only one from my school going so I love seeing all you guys post.

anyway, yeah the thing with Parsons....whatever. RISD just told me they have no financial aid appeal process anyway, so however much $ Parsons might have given me (the only reason I cared so much) wouldn't have helped in an appeal/negotiation anyway.

soo nervous for my risd fin aid letter though! I had a dream last night that it came :P how dorky is that.
