I submitted my Application for Admission I early December but I've still not been contacted for an interview. Anyone else has the same problem? I'm from Singapore, by the way.

Since you live in Singapore, which should have a good number of Columbia alumni, you will probably receive an offer for an interview. However, when you are contacted really depends on when the interviewer decides to do so. I'm an international student who applied Early Decision, and I submitted my part I in late September, and was contacted mid-November. At the interview, my interviewer told me that she just realized the deadline was coming up, which was probably why I was contacted so late. So there's no need to worry, you will probably be contacted in a little while.

There's no need to worry. Last year, the interviews were still conducted in mid January. And we have plenty of alumni in Singapore, so you should probably get one.

hm... the reason i'm concerned is last year I applied to columbia too, but i never got called up for an interview. i didn't submit my application for admission A this early last year though

wow, columbia has JUST sent the email confirming they've received the application for admission I. i submitted it more than a month ago.

Did all internationals just now get their confirmation? I just now got mine too, even though I submitted it in like September.

is the interview required or option? if it is option, how important is it?
ahhh and when should you be contacted if for regular??

From what I understand, if you do not have an interview then it won't be counted against you. It simply means that there aren't enough alumni interviewers in your area relative to the number of applicants. I'm not sure when they conduct interviews for RD applicants, though, because I was an ED candidate. My guess would be sometime in January (middle to late). Although I've heard that the interview isn't a huge part of the application, it doesn't hurt to have a really good report! But hey, if you aren't very confident in your interviewing skills, not having an interview might be good because you don't have the opportunity to make yourself look bad. Best of luck!

I am an international and received a confirmation email almost immediately after submitting part 1, which must have been early November if I remember well. Still nothing about any interview.

yea i agree with you angelutza.. i did get confirmation but no interview.
