still nothing = rejection?

hkstrpd

I sympathize with your D!
If I didn't get into NYU 2 weeks ago, I'd be devastated since my rejection from UCLA last Thursday!

I'm from the bay area, where the over-achieving asian population is overwhelmingly large. Which makes the rest of us look dumb.

I applied to 10 schools, and got accepted into 3 of them. Got rejected from: Syracuse, NYU, UCLA, UCSD, UCI, Occidental, USC.

You know what really sucks? I know like 5 people at my school that got into USC, and they aren't even considering it. They applied to USC as a back-up. We should have gotten accepted, the people who actually WANT to go to USC.

^

Completely agree.. USC is my #1st choice. I know ppl who got in and threw away the big envelopes.

^^Yeah. I agree with you on that. We need to find a new way of admissions because that is what is driving rates up: more people are applying and to a higher number of colleges too. People shouldnt apply to colleges that they wont consider. That being said....I shouldnt have applied to Santa Clara University.....

i definitely sympathize with you guys & i totally agree that applying to so many schools just drives down acceptance rates, but if even 50% of people who were accepted to USC actually matriculated, USC would just start accepting far less people...

i'll post my stats on the rejected thread. so depressing ><

Yay Bay ARea! Are you from SF or are you one of those across the bay kids?

Hey. REJECTED TODAY.. Want to die. I'm from the Bay Area too, and I know about 4 people from my school that got in, they don't want to go there either. I am really not feeling well, I think I'll buy some Ben and Jerry's.

I'm from the south bay.

Homestead High School

Didn't get anything today still. Weird.

Here's another rejection.

Really not in the mood to leave the house all week...

yup got rejected. after quite a long and agonizing wait too. this kinda sucks. oh well.

Rejected. Ah well, I got into UCLA and Cal, so w/e.

btw, anyone considering the appeal? do you think its worth it? my guess is that unless you've gotten a huge improvement in grades there just gonna say no, has anyone heard of the appeal actually being helpful?

^

Honestly?

With so many rejections this year I bet a lot of people will be appealing. I don't think it matters unless there was a huge mix up with you transcript/SAT or that you've just recently won the Nobel Prize

I'm doing one just for the hell of it...

I'm doing the appeal. And I'm also giving up sleep for a couple days to make sure it's really good. Hopefully, i'll be one of the few who actually get in. :(

At one point, I was thinking about doing the appeal, but then again the letter said if you had "compelling information". My grades remained steady mostly As and nothing really outstanding.

I plan to go to UCSD then transfer or go to USC as a graduate.

Is anybody who got rejected able to get into that reservations page?

^

If you can get in.. you're probably in
