"I have a friend that works in admissions and she told me that approximately 96% of the acceptances have already been sent."

"I'm not sure about them being sent out, as a separate group is responsible for that. My information pertains solely to the decisions that have been made; I don't know for sure when they're mailed"

Or maybe you are making things up as you go?

Maybe the timing is intended to coincide with other elite schools' announcements? Anyway, we will find out soon, it just seems like an eternity.

just a note, many people recieve new and different USC ID numbers after they are admitted, so the explore usc thing isn't neccessarily going to work until you have the acceptance letter in your hot little hand

I can log into the RSVP site where it lists your major and allows you to set up an admitted student date, but not explore usc. anyone else have that problem? i assume i'm admitted because why else would i be able to login.

When I said sent in the first post, I meant released. I asked her to clarify after learning so many people still haven't heard. The 96% figure pertains to the number of decisions that have been released from admissions; mailing may be a different figure.

Since this is hearsay, and you don't really know for sure, why don't you just leave off....the last thing stressed-out applicants need is possibly inaccurate info. I don't know if you were trying to be helpful or discouraging, but just leave it, okay? There's enough stress without this.

PleaseUSC88: New Id numbers so the Exploreusc might not work, huh? That makes sense. I am sure there are many rumors here that start all kinds of worry. The best is to sit tight and take all your frustration out in chocolate and cursing out the mailman for being slower and slower with every passing day....

NAgony: I was trying to pass on information that other applicants may not have known or had access to. I trust my source, but everyone has the right to believe what they wish. I'm sorry if my information caused anguish to those that refuse to believe the truth. Next time I have inside information, I will keep it to myself. Congratulations to all who were rejected!

^ Wow, that's just mean. We're all anxious and nervous right now, so please cut us a little slack. I for one, appreciate your information, even if it means I'm probably rejected. I'm trying to take ALL information with a grain of salt, even though it's tough. Just naturally, I'm more tempted to believe info that helps me rather than hurts me because I want to ultimately hear good news.

It's time to imagine myself at other schools but like all of have said, it's not over until it's over.

CA2006, regarding "elite" status, I meant that USC may be modeling itself after Ivy league campuses by dragging out its admissions till a similar date.

It's time to imagine myself at other schools but like all of have said, it's not over until it's over.
I didn't mean to be too harsh, but frankly I'm a bit annoyed that I am attacked when all I am doing is trying to help inform others. I'm glad that someone appreciates the information that I have provided. I recognize it's a tough time for a lot of people, and perhaps that's why people refuse to believe information they don't want to hear. I genuinely hope that you are accepted :-)
