<p>Transporting troops and material to other countries [presumably those countries in combat situations!] servign your country? Sure, why not? </p>
<p>Transporting goods to Japan, 90% of the time w/ 10% of time to Iraq . . . maybe not. Being paid big bucks by a maritime company while Marines are sweating it out . . . maybe not. </p>
<p>Perhaps serving in the maritaime industry is somewhat like working as a Blackwater mercenary. . . not exactly serving your country but, perhaps, furthering the "war on terror" a bit. A necessary component that is, at least, contributing to the effort.</p>
