So I applied to USF back on September 21, got one of my transcripts in and had some trouble getting a previous community college transcript in as well, but it went through October 12. I'm applying as a transfer student with an AA.

STILL haven't heard anything back. It does say that:

We have completed our initial review of the academic credentials in your file and are deferring our final admission decision for an additional review. A final decision will be made shortly and you will be notified by mail of the decision.

It has said this forever! Is it normal to take this long? I know classes are open to sign up, so I'm getting anxious. Should I call?

Call, ask if they have everything they need from you. If you are attending college now, make sure your present college sends final transcript right away. Ask USF when you can expect admission decision notice so you can do your planning.

I called them and found out the delay. Because I checked off that I committed a misdemeanor (a pathetic excuse of a crime really), my student conduct explanation has been going through additional review (alongside 1000 other applicants) for the past month. This late in the game though, with no idea when they’ll get to it, my chances of getting in for spring before capacity looks grim. :
