yeah maybe it's taking so long cause it's a big acceptance packet.. i hope

I do not understand a "rolling admissions" school that can't get answers out well before the admitted students day. Many got their decisions three months ago! Something is very wrong here. Was everybody still waiting a deferral? That would be some explanation, but still, do they really think making anxious families wait from October until now is acceptable, with or without rolling admissions? It appears that some people may even get their acceptances after the admitted students day.

How much bigger the huge UCs are and they manage to get the answers out all at once. Try 55,000 applications, or more at UCLA!

still no answer... i applied one hour before the deadline on jan. 15 haha. i really don't care though, lmu was never one of my top choices... but still i've heard back from every college except this one but whatever

I was waitlisted...

They have a waitlist now? Oh, the irony...

wing2871x said he didn't get his letter till April 14th and it was a rejection...tomorrows April 14th. Oh God.

ahh...so hopefully tomorrow all of us will at least KNOW our final decisions...

2343242 months later lol

ugh geezes. i submitted my app 30 min bfor the deadline haha.

meh. hopefully i will get accepted...

but if i am accepted, it kinda makes my college decisions even harder, since in the past two weeks, i kinda know where i wanna go... n now if accepted, i will have to compare LMU to other places i'd like to go to.

at least LMU should write a simple apology letter or osmething.

There's no telling what they're looking for this year...

great. rejected. lovely.

.. i dont think they sent me the same rejection letter they send to everyone tho. my letter specifically said that my academic performance fell short, but i still have potential to go there or osemthign.. i ono. what abt u guys?

coolrena i'm so sorry. i feel like i'm going to be rejected too.

what?! they told you that your academic performance fell short? well thats just icing on the cake. they really shouldn't write that in rejection letters. i feel like that's rude and a bit harsh, especially when they take so long and make you wait.

anyway, you're too good for LMU, coolrena. Where do you plan on going?

anybody not get a letter?! I still didnt get anything! I don't think they lost my app. b/c i got the "your app is complete" post card. I'm assuming that its lost in the mail or something. I mean yes, they are slow, but this is really embarrassing for them.

My son is still waiting for a letter. Nephew is still waiting for his financial aid (accepted in December).

I'm sorry guys, My friend from school got rejected too and her letter said her performance fell short also. It was rude at first, but then i reread it and it didn't seem that rude, plus that added a semi-sweet paragraph about transferring. I wouldn't even want to go to LMU after how you guys have been treated, heck its not even in the lead anymore with me, its in a tie with UCSB, if they would have notified me earlier they would have won, no questions asked. I only wish i could give my letter to someone who's more in love with LMU than I am. Don't feel like your the only one, lots have been rejected from LMU, I just got rejected from Chapman and lost valedictorian and saluditorian in one day...talk about a bad day!

Anyway I agree with americanbeauty you are too good for LMU, and lots of other people who are far too good for LMU got rejected.

Zacriemaster,

Please do not feel that way! You should be proud of your admission to LMU. Obviously there are many problems that fellow CCers have had this year, but that doesn't minimize your accomplishments. You should go to the right school for you, and not let what has happened to others cloud that.

I am sorry about Chapman, and your valedictorian/saludatorian problems. In ten years, believe me, that will be just a blip on the map that is your life. It is what you do with your time that counts. Sometimes life isn't fair. Sometimes everything is great! Disappointments can teach us much about what we are capable of dealing with.

None of us is sure what happened with LMU this year. Some kids waited a long time to be accepted, others got rejected. That is just how it goes. Do I think that students should have been strung along for so long before hearing a denial - heck no! Obviously there are some internal issues that LMU will need to deal with in admissions for next year. But again, that doesn't minimize your success. Be happy for yourself! We are all rooting for you!

Good luck in whatever you decide!

Michelle

I got the letter. Rejected. Oh well, I don't want to go to a school that acts as if I'm below them and waits 300 years to send me a response. While I was waiting, I realized it wasn't the school for me, so I'm fine with it.

I thought it was obnoxious though that they send students emails that "patience is a virtue" when they are accepted. Well, so is competence LMU. Also, I re-read the letter too, and to me it sounded a little high and mighty. Chapman's rejection letter was like that too. Chapman said "We feel we've made the right decision" Well, how can you make the "right" decision? You don't KNOW these candidates, you can only make the BEST decision. And that doesn't make people feel any better.

Gee, thanks, LMU I have "potential" and I "fall short" academically. Right. And I have higher scores and grades than many admitted....how nice of you to add that in. (not a criticism of those admitted)

Yes, LMU received many applications, more than ever. So did every university in the country.

Wash U and USC had the sweetest letters that really made you feel better after reading them. They acknowledged it was the competition, not the students themselves, and many applicants deserved admission. As for LMU and Chapman? Not so much.

But you should be proud, zacriemaster! I know how you feel; if I had gotten into a school I didn't really want to go to, I'd feel like I wanted to give my spot to someone else. But you shouldn't, because if you decline to go there it could help someone on the waitlist! Also, in the end it doesn't matter where you go, but what you do with your life and if you're happy where you are.

Wow! I got waitlisted. I am so happy! I can't believe I wasn't rejected. I'm going to get to work ASAP on my waitlist letter.

HAHA wait!

i'm so confused! i dont know why ig ot rejected from LMU...

cause i got accepted to NYU Film.....

ahh weird........

meh. i think i will most likely be going to chapman, though.

Woa, LMU is weird. NYU film is an amazing accomplishment.

Thanks guys, you always make me feel better, even better then my family and my friends at school :p I really hope I can make the best decision between the two school, I just wish I would have had longer to make it. I think the wording of LMU's rejection letter was trying to cushion the blow and make it more personal, however I think they failed. oh and coolrena8 maybe they saw it in your application that you were much to good for them and would probably go to a different school, i heard they were trying to weed out people using LMU as a safety school, that or they're just weird :/ Anyway wish me luch on choosing a school...wow suddenly i feel like going to church...
