"Patience is a virtue" -- the title of the email from LMU I got today saying that I was in, and that it took them a while to make decisions, but the acceptance is in the mail. Very happy about this, and once I get the acceptance I can check online what I still need to send in for financial aid.

This email came not too long after I got the email requesting financial aid documents.

Did those of you that recieved an email get periodic communications from LMU? We tried filling out the online email profile that said we'd get weekly emails, etc. Never got a thing and tried 3 times to submit the profile over the past few months.

SDiegoMom: The only other communication I had with LMU was an email dated January 16 titled "We've received your application." Also, I got a postcard dated January 28 that said my application was complete. That was it until April 3 when I was asked for more financial aid documents.

Same as with strandlib. Application complete email and postcard, in January.

Thank you. I don't recall if we got the application received email but got a postcard 12/12 saying his app. was complete. Maybe he didn't get in which would be a blessing at this point as he has too many choices and I doubt he'd get any gift aid to make it a worthwhile investment. We live in So. Cal. so if they mailed the letters we should have it today.

I got the postcard and the app complete, but no "You're In!" email. Maybe it's because i'm a film major, and they send it last they haven't finished yet.

Geez they are slow...

SDiegoMom,
My son has already made his choice, based on the same assumption about gift aid. He has other choices and has been narrowing them down, based on their financial aid packages. We also live in So Cal. The website still shows their notification periods go up to April 15. That is too wait for him to make a reasoned decision.

What other schools are your son considering?

yeah i didnt get any email yet either

Hi Littlegreenmom: I will send you a PM about his other choices. He's pretty frustrated as his favorite schools have offered nothing of course.

Hmmm no periodic communication with me either, the only letter being from LMU saying that they had received my application. I'm wondering if this was because I am a transfer, however.

have never had any periodic emails from lmu, and nothing in the mail today...this is getting beyond ridiculous..............

ahhh...im trying to be positive but one of my other schools that i havent heard form in a looong time...i was waitlisted ehh...

but im hoping its different at LMU!

do u think this long wait is a "sign"...or LMU is just really REALLY slow?

they're just really slow.

I called them friday and they said a decision has been reached and they will be mailing my decision shortly. They will try to get everyones decision out by the 15th. THE 15TH?!?!

For a rolling admissions school, giving an answer on April 15th is beyond ridiculous.

Giving an answer to an applicant that late can only imply that they are hopelessly behind, or don't want these applicants, in my opinion.

The admissions counselor we met with last fall told us "you don't need to apply for the early acceptance here as we get our decisons made in 4 weeks." Our son applied 12/2 and like the rest of you still nothing. I've emailed them every two weeks since 2/1 and they say "2 more weeks" every 2 weeks. This is a total joke for what is supposed to be such a great school. I guess if you are a "scholar" they accept you right away but the others they string along. Very unfair to the applicants.

I just got my acceptance by e-mail. it was sent friday afternoon but I opened it on saturday and I was pretty pumped about finally getting it. 9000 applied for 1250 places it said in the letter. odd thing is that I applied after the Jan 15th application deadline. although i was being semi-recruited for the D2 hockey team & I called up the woman who was reviewing my application to see how it was coming maybe she had decided to review my application then. whatever though..everyone should be recieveing their decision soon.
Good Luck!

Hatrick791,

Congratulations! That is terrific news for you!

i'm a bit confused..so some people have received acceptances through email...others havent?..that kind of throws things off

but congrats! that must be very relieving

From what I understand, an email seems to come before an acceptance. Another poster on this site said that they will notify by April 15th.
