Still waiting :[

We saw that post but couldn't find that on their web site. Admitted student day is the 13th so that makes no sense.

I found this on their admissions website. Yes, it makes no sense.

"Application Review and Admission Decisions:

Applications for admission are reviewed on a rolling basis. This means that your application will be evaluated as soon as all required documents have been received. Written notification of your eligibility for admission will be sent as soon as a decision has been reached and normally no later than April 15 for fall freshmen who apply by January 15. Admitted students are required to submit final transcripts to verify that all work in progress is successfully completed. In the event that the final semester of work does not meet required criteria, acceptance may be rescinded.

There are no minimum or required GPA's or test scores. Each applicant is carefully reviewed for indicators of academic achievement, preparation and potential. The essay can be particularly helpful for students interested in being considered for academic scholarships.

All freshman applicants are automatically considered for academic scholarships. See Scholarships/Financial Aid for more details."

hey there everyone I'm a freshman Natural Science Major at LMU. I just wanted to tell everyone to try to hang in there and relax and that they will find out soon enough if you got in or not. Supposedly this was the biggest amount of applicants LMU has ever seen which is the reason why it is taking so long to process through all the good applications. But as someone who has been through it only a year ago try not to let it overwhelm you and if it's meant to be it will be.

Don't stress and try to enjoy the time in high school that you have left! good luck.

Thanks joekster,

Yes, they had a big admissions year. So did every other college campus, out there (public and private), due to the staggering number of high school graduates who had applied. This was the largest graduating class in US history.

The point is that many of us have been waiting since before November, either as a student or a parent, to hear an answer. When the College Admitted Students day is now less than a week from today, that makes scheduling difficult for many families, especially for those that need to travel to make the event, particularly when this is the month when students are previewing their choices at other campuses that have accepted them weeks or even months ago! Many of us have made commitments to travel to see other campuses the same weekend because of the lack of notification by LMU.

I appreciate that you are enjoying your time as a freshman at LMU. It is a great school!

I am starting to feel skeptical....if they treat applicants this way, how will they treat students?

Not saying it's a bad school. In fact, I found most of the people on-campus to be warm, friendly and personal when I visited. But the administration...hmm..

I'm thinking maybe it was my applications, since i havent heard from 3 of my top schools, LMU being one of them. It can only imply that my app was thrown away and now they are struggling to remember my address so they can send that rejection.

so i called admissions twice today..the second time around 2pm (socal time..) and my application was STILL not reviewed..however, the guy told me theyre trying to get all decisions mailed out by the end of TODAY...which seems impossible considering how slow theyve been going...but i guess we're all use to the waiting by now lol

ahh...

I called too, she said my application was being evaluated and that the committee will continue through the night?!?! OK I'm sorry but LMU isnt sounding professional right now...They should of had these completed weeks ago. talk about procrastination...

So I guess the better question is, how many of you still waiting are seriously considering LMU, still? Many have received other offers, and some are still waiting to hear from everyone.

Where do you stand?

They are still working on applications? That blows my mind.

I wonder if students have extra time to turn in their papers at LMU? (winking, now.)

I'm still seriously considering LMU for their film program. I just wish they would hurry up and relieve my stress.

I've already gotten into UC Davis, and I just submitted my SIR for Davis today. LMU was just taking way too long, and since I doubted they'd give me financial aid anyways, I chose Davis. I also wanted to get a head start on Davis housing stuff. LMU lost out because of how late they were (and partly because Davis's political science program is more resourceful than theirs).

But if I get rejected anyways, then it's all good.

I won't hear from Pitt until late May to June 2nd because I'm on waitlist for fall, so I am seriously considering LMU for film.

I got my financial aid package from MyAid online today and I got the Arrupe Scholarship!! I'm so happy and this totally makes up for LMU's lateness. This money just made my decision a whole lot easier.

well, nothing in the mail today......

am thinking that if you get accepted, they will perhaps send you an email, as it seems some email acceptances have trickled through, from what I have seen here, and maybe they will do that so those kids can attend the preview day this weekend.

so, in my mind, hearing nothing means a big fat NO...............and we are tired of waiting..............

time to forget about lmu and move on to other options!

No mail for my son, either. Fellow classmate got a denial from LMU today.

i called again today...my app still hasnt been reviewed/no decision made...honestly,this is rediculous...

I think I'll be calling tomorrow. I'm getting pretty anxious. Anyone thought about calling up LMU's admissions office and asking if they'll email your acceptance to you?

I asked and the lady snapped at me saying she didn't know in a very annoyed tone...I'm scared to call back now.

No email, no nothing.

That's horrible, zacrie. They shouldn't treat you that way.
