Still worth taking AP exams that don't give Princeton credit?

I think many of us are all in the same boat, we've been admitted to princeton, but we're taking AP exams that Princeton doesn't even offer credit for.

For instance, I'm signed up for AP Gov, but Princeton doesn't offer any credit for the exam...so my question is do we still take the exam or get our money back?

Interesting question…Is the exam a learning experience in any way? If so, bite the bullet and take it. The point of school is actually the acquisition of knowledge. If it is a pointless waste of time and $$$, by all means skip it.

There is no extrinsic reason to take the test in such cases.

That’s what I’m thinking, but say if something happens or compromises my ability to graduate from Princeton, I will have some back up college credit should I enroll in another school.

But I signed up for 5 AP exams, most of which require a 5 to get Princeton credit:

Physics B - offers credit for AB students but not BSE, so since im planning on engineering, its not worth taking
Literature - credit, but doesn’t get you out of writing…
Language - not worth taking because I think they only offer credit for 1 English exam
Macroeconomics - credit for a 5
US Govt - no credit at all!

I would only take econ and lit, so I could save 3 x (86 - 13) = $219

If you cancel, all you have to pay is the $13 untaken test charge. Cancel. Enjoy.

are any other prospective princeton UGs also canceling no-credit APs?

Take it, it is used at Harvard for placement when you are in, I assume Princeton is the same.
