Stocker Scholarship?

I don't suppose anybody on here knows anything about the Stocker Scholarship?

I don't know anything about this scholarship but I was wondering what you knew about it? I tried to search for the Stocker Scholarship but couldn't find a thing.

My H and I loved OU, loved the campus and the town.

deb922 - I sent you a PM.

For others, Stocker is an invitational scholarship competition for engineering. It appears they give these to 30 students/year.

I was wondering what the competition entails. Anybody have a clue?

Just in case anybody ever does a search for "Stocker Scholars" here's the scoop.

My son attended the competition where they had to build a bridge given what he laughingly described as, "ridiculous supplies", lol, in teams. They were evaluated for leadership, team work, and creative ideas.

Out of 100 kids chosen to compete they give out about 30 of these scholarships. Basically it is a small dollar scholarship ($1250/year) that is renewable based not only on GPA (which was high, maybe 3.4 - I've forgotten) but subjective stuff like their involvement in the Engineering Ambassador program, and other engineering clubs, professional associations, co-ops, etc.

My son did win one, but has not chosen a college yet. He has received a lot of money from OU (in addition to Stockers, two Gateway scholarships and the freshman R&B discount) and I find it very tempting from many viewpoints, although I have no idea what he is thinking so far.

Sounds very much like OM, doesn't it!

Congrats to your S, sounds like OU really wants him. It will be interesting where he ends up.
