We got the Hot Honey and the Extra Hot Honey and both were a big hit. Looking forward to the ideas this year…
I put an ornament in everyone’s stockings. I buy from a variety of places, Hallmark, Old World Christmas, Gumps, etc… I bought this cute “golden doodle” ornament for my son’s fiancé from Etsy. It looks just like their dog!!
Those are adorable.
I work with CASA, an organization that helps families involved with the court system. We have a closet to pull things from for the kids we work with…games, toys, toiletries, and a few items of clothing. I recently needed to get the kids some clothing, and noticed a whole box of socks. Bombas socks and I thought ‘wow, nice.’ Then I remembered that Bombas donates a pair for every pair purchased and thought “Hey, they really do.”
So thank all of you who buy the socks for Christmas stockings.
Thank you for reminding me to get some Bombas for the kiddos! These are great socks, and so cool to confirm that they indeed donate their products.
I ordered the 8 packs of preserves, etc. for stockings. I’m also going to get more Hot Honey, and one Extra Hot, if I can find it.
The “kids” know much of what will be in their stockings, but I like to put in a couple (or more) surprises.
Another thing I got, which I don’t remember mentioning, is hair scrunches from Athleta. They had them on sale for less than half price.
I got dress socks for the girls from Talbots to use one of the $20 coupons they sent me, so can’t beat that price.
I do my own advent calendar so I have to get creative. Lots of ideas - small gift cards, scratch off cards, hair accessories, puzzle book, lots of variety of candies, cookies, hot chocolate bombs (make own), ornament…
Do you have a standard “container/calendar” you put these all in? Or like one of those felt pocket calendars??
My DIL bought her BIL something like this last year. He loved it.
I got reusable bags like these. They’re numbered so I can put them all out in a large basket and they only open that day’s bag. They’re pretty large so can hold a variety of things but if bigger, I just wrapped it first and let it peak out.
I clicked on that Advent Calendar etsy link. Wow! So many different choices of advent bags! What a cute idea!
They also had some bags for the 12 days of Christmas, for those who follow that tradition.
Very cute idea - haven’t seen anything like this before!
A couple stocking stuffers I grabbed recently.
Shower steamers. I got these but also got some homemade ones in a little gift bag with some sugar scrub and other eucalyptus smelling items
Cleverfy Shower Steamers Aromatherapy - Variety Pack of 6 Shower Bombs with Essential Oils. Relaxation Christmas Gifts for Women and Men. https://a.co/d/bMEbNpz
Car wash coupons/gift card
Appreciated here in winter weather especially! Sometimes you can get an unlimited month or two .
I picked this up yesterday. S has a Keurig so will give him the hot chocolate and one of the coffees. D and SIL don’t have one, so I’ll keep the other two for myself!
Gift cards are big at my house. My daughter is getting one from Penzey’s Spices because now that she’s 21 she’s asking for things like Dutch ovens and vacuum cleaners instead of Nintendo games. (That was quick!)
Also Terry’s Chocolate Oranges. Earbuds. Stickers. Weird candy and single-serving sodas in glass bottles from Grandpa Joes Candy Shop. And I splurge on the Solmate mismatched socks; everyone loves them.
I noticed at Costco yesterday that they now carry a Hot Honey. It wasn’t Mike’s, it’s Savannah Bee Company. Here’s a Reddit thread about it (I couldn’t think of the name of the hot honey: Reddit - Dive into anything). According to one user, this honey uses habaneros and scotch bonnets for the heat whereas Mike’s uses cayenne. Obviously, one would need to verify, but just thought I’d share.
Have you tried shower steamers? We got some last year and they didn’t do much.
I got some from DIL last year. I don’t really “get” them. I wondered whether I was using it wrong somehow.
I put this on the good buy thread…but we are getting for stocking stuffers.
At BJs…
$50 LLBean card for $39.99
Lowes $75 for $65 or so.
Great for our kids!
