My daughter was excited to get an acceptance letter today with a Presidential scholarship!

i was excited to receive my acceptance letter to stonehill a few weeks ago. My letter said that i qualified to be considered for merit scholarships but there was a handwritten note attached that said that the person incharge of the merit letters was out of the office due to a family emergency and i would get it when they were back in the office.
Is anyone else in this same situation? i havent heard anything since then and am anxious as stonehill is my first choice!!

I went to Stonehill and was a Communications major. What is your name – email me at burkemd@muohio.edu. I am a grad student now and I know some people in the Comm. dept at Stonehill. It is a great school!

i applied regular decision, i heard some people are already finding out. i applied at the end of december. has anyone found out regular yet and when did you apply?

RD has been extended to 15th Feb.

Just received acceptance letter yesterday. Does anyone know if Honors Merit Scholarship for $10,000 which some received is same as Presidential for $10,000?

Also does Stonehill put all their merit aid offer in the acceptance letters?

Thanks!

I think they do. My daughter’s also got the 10,000 honors award. The difference is they are enrolled in the honors program and I think a slight difference in GPA you have to keep to stay in the program.
When I asked if other aid would be available, to my memory, they said, need-based, if appropriate, would be included later in the FA package.
Another poster told me their child got a presidential award early years ago, and then the honors merit award in March. I feel getting the honors first, makes it seem like that is it. They knew they didn’t qualify for need-based though so it probably was incentive to apply.

My son was waitlisted. Any info. on chances of being accepted?

I think they took about 10 last year or the year before. I’m sure showing interest in that would help, some students move on but never reject the waitlist option.
From their blog:
How many on waitlist:
We will not know the exact number until after April 15. In the past few years approximately 200-300 students chose to remain on the waiting list.

Can you give me an idea of how many students will eventually be accepted off the waiting list this year?

Since every year is so different, this is a very hard number to predict. Just to give you an example, in the past five years we have accepted as many as eighty and as few as ten students off the wait list.

Is the waiting list ranked?

No, we do not rank the waitlist. If we decide to take students off the waitlist, we will review all of the applicants and choose those that are the most qualified.

Should I deposit at another college?

Yes- in the chance that we do not take you off the waitlist, you will need a school to attend next fall! If you are taken off the waitlist at Stonehill, we will refund your deposit elsewhere up to $500.

If I am admitted, how will I be notified?

We prefer to call students to take them off the waitlist. You will later receive your official offer of Admission via mail.

Debruns - thanks for the info. S is definitely still interested. 80 out of 200 would be good odds. But 10 out of 300 does not sound so good.

found these stats on US News:
Wait List
Does the school have a waiting list? Yes
Number of applicants placed on a waiting list: 1,420
Number of students on the wait list accepted: 587
Number of students enrolled from a waiting list: 241

Recently accepted into Stonehill, but my acceptance package didn’t mention anything about scholarship or money? Is this normal or am I not going to receive any money from the school?

Hi everyone,

The discussion was awesome. I was recently admitted to stonehill and it is a prime choice for me. Honestly, the only thing that makes me wonder somewhat is the social life outside of the classroom. Can anyone help me out here?

Hi All

Can you please post your stats and merit awards/scholarship received to help give prospective students an idea of what to expect

Thanks!!!
