Are decisions made on a rolling basis ?
Sort of they let you know after they process your application but I’m not sure if it’s first come first serve
It’s not. All applicants will be notified by April 1.

But I have noticed people post comments here that they have received their decisions already. There doesn’t seem to be a set date for decisions.
There isn’t – we send out decisions in batches, typically weekly. But everyone will be notified by the end of March. Hang in there!

Hi, I’m a little confused. Is Stony Brook rolling admissions? I see peiple posting they were accepted, is that for fall 2018?
Does stony brook accept the kids with the higher sat scores and grades first, and then they review the remaining kids?
That’s definitely what they do. They accept the kids with the best credentials and reject the kids with the lowest credentials first, then they evaluate everyone else until the class is filled. Anyone still not accepted or rejected at that point goes on the waiting list.
@lilaw88 but I know people with lower credentials than me who got their acceptances and I haven’t heard anything back yet. Do they send it out randomly?
