Stony brook orientation and housing deposit @sbuadmissions

@sbuadmissions good afternoon! I was accepted for the fall2018 as a transfer and just paid my housing and orientation deposit. But on my email it’s saying that the housing isn’t guaranteed for students and will be on a space available basis. So my question is, if there will be a spot, how I’ll be notified if I’ll get a room? I live in Brooklyn and it’s my biggest concern, to get a spot in a dorm. And by which date I will know that? Thank you

If you paid your housing deposit and submitted your new student preferences prior to May 1, it provides you a better chance at on campus housing as a transfer student. You can find out where we stand as far as housing space availability is concerned by emailing reside@stonybrook.edu
