You are not alone. I was rejected today too, from Comp Sci, with stats similar to yours, from specialized NYC High School. Not even offered AOI or admission as undecided or to another major!
Glad I have a bunch of other good options lined up but this is insane.
It looks like comp sci in-state students got screwed by Stony this year.
Got rejected from honors ;). Only took them 4 months to tell me something that probably took them 5 minutes to review
My son told me his friend who is attending Carnegie Mellon now, was rejected from Stony Brook.
Wild guess - we attend the same specialized high school.
In past forums I have seen people get accepted during this time, so have hope guys!

Have you considered emailing Stony Brook to see if there was an error? My son, 1530 SAT, 97.75% average from NYC Specialized High School. He was initially rejected from CUNY - City College. He emailed the admission office. They responded within the week that there was a technical error at the Admissions Office and he was admitted shortly after that.
It doesn’t matter. It’s my fault, I should’ve retracted by app anyway.
I’ll pass your advice to my friends. I know a bunch of people who were rejected from Stony with similar stats to your son.

Tech sent over a thousand apps to Stony this years. Stony rejects many qualified students from here because they can’t fill their entire incoming class with a single high school.
Oh that is a shame. You would think from a NYC Specialized HS with the stats should be a sure in to a SUNY, in state.
